There is limited parking around the campus. Casual parking is available at a rate of $4 per hour, up to a maximum charge of $24 for 24 hours. The payment method depends on the type of machine, with some accepting only credit cards or only coins. Please note that the machines do not provide change, and the University does not offer refunds.

About 3/4 untimed, free spaces on Seamer St (near Arundel St), but usually gone before 8am. Glebe streets (Catherine, Arundel) usually 1P, some spaces close to St. Johns Rd are 2P or even 4P. Most parking on Redfern side is shared with resident permit holders. May be worth doing a.

Getting to campus – The University of Sydney, 1/2/2009  · You can park for free on Shepherd Street in the morning if you are there before 7am – if you are later than that it is very difficult to get parking. Your best bet is to park at a station and catch the train – parking around the university is difficult. Try Erskineville and McDonaldtown stations (and remember not to leave valuables in your car!), All around Sydney, there is parking space that is not being used 24/7. Residential parking spaces sit empty during the day. Car parks often have empty spaces at night, or at weekends.


Car, there is ample paid parking around USYD and some free parking found in surrounding suburbs if students wish to drive to campus. Campus Life Campus life within USYD is very enjoyable and the university places a strong emphasis upon maximising their student experience.
